CNN —Scientists may have pinpointed a massive, oddly shaped volcano taller than Mount Everest on the surface of Mars — and it has been hiding in plain sight for decades, according to new research. Ackman said on Monday on X, "we covered our bond short" some 12 weeks after he announced the bet on the messaging platform formerly known as Twitter. "The economy is slowing faster than recent data suggests," Ackman said in the post, adding "There is too much risk in the world to remain short bonds at current long-term rates." The yield on the 30-year Treasuries was around 4.16% when he announced his bet against them. He said the Treasury yield, which moves in the opposite direction of prices, could rise to 5.5%. But the conflict between Islamist group Hamas and Israel is unnerving investors and suggests Treasuries could become a safe investment option.

Arda Guler, who was expected to be available against Las Palmas after recovering from a knee operation, sustained a thigh injury in training that will further delay his debut for the team. MADRID, Dec 22 (Reuters) - Spain allowed nitrogen dioxide (NO2) air pollution levels to systematically exceed EU limits in Madrid and Barcelona between 2010 and 2018, the European Court of Justice ruled on Thursday, potentially paving the way for Brussels to seek penalties. The EU's executive Commision had asked the bloc's top court in 2019 to take action against Spain over its poor air quality in its two biggest cities, arguing it was failing to protect citizens against pollution. The court found that harmful rates of NO2 in the air had exceeded the limits in areas with a combined population of 7.3 million people, including the two big cities and an industrial area near Barcelona: Valles-Baix Llobregat. MILAN, Oct 25 (Reuters) - The Della Valle family failed to reach the 90% ownership threshold needed to proceed with a proposed delisting of luxury shoemaker Tod's (TOD.MI) under their buyout bid, a Borsa Italiana filing showed on Tuesday. On the last day available for the offer, investors tendered Tod's shares accounting for a total of 4,134,358 shares. According to Reuters calculations, the Della Valles, who own 64.5% of the company, needed to gain the acceptance of 5,144,373 shares to reach the 90% threshold in their effort to take the company private. The Della Valle family has stated it could delist Tod's by merging it into DeVa Finance within six months of the closing of the takeover bid. Tod's shares ended down 2.4% at 39.6 euros, underperforming Milan's all-share index (.FTITLMS) which ended up 1.5%.
